About the Board Members
Jason Madden is President and a founding member of the Fiddler’s Green Foundation. He served with the 2‑2 Infantry Regiment from 2002–2005 and today lives in Plymouth, Massachusetts while continuing to serve his country as a Major in the Air Force Reserves. Jason’s decision to help form the Foundation grew out of firsthand experience with the long‑term effects of combat: he witnessed veterans wrestling with survivor’s guilt and grieving families who felt overlooked. Those experiences shaped a clear mission—no veteran or family should have to struggle alone—and drove Jason to build an organization that pairs remembrance with practical support. Bringing a business and legal background to the Board, Jason was instrumental in establishing the Foundation’s governance, daily operations, and long‑term vision. He focuses on creating durable programs and policies that ensure the Foundation’s work endures beyond any single leader’s tenure. Under his leadership the Foundation emphasizes presence—reunions, memorial support, and family outreach—while also building the administrative and legal structures needed for sustainable impact. Jason’s most vivid memory from 2‑2 Infantry is rejoining the Scout‑Sniper Platoon in Fallujah, a moment that reinforced the bonds of service and the importance of honoring those ties. He measures success by the Foundation’s ability to translate compassion into concrete help for veterans and families, and he is committed to leaving an organization that continues to serve long after he steps down.
Nestor (Eder) Reyes lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has been part of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment community since his service from 2001–2005. After enlisting as a 19D Cavalry Scout and later commissioning as a 19A Armor Officer, Nestor continued his commitment to service both in uniform and with his brothers and sisters from the unit. Years of reunions beginning in the early 2010s revealed the profound value of being together: those gatherings provided a place to share stories, process difficult memories, and strengthen one another. That realization helped drive the formal creation of the Fiddler’s Green Foundation in 2025. In his role as Vice President and Chief of Operations, Nestor applies operations and staff‑level expertise—leadership, planning, and team‑building—to develop the organizational systems the Foundation needs to scale. He is focused on building a durable blueprint so the Foundation can reliably support reunions, memorial events, and family outreach. Deeply moved by the ways hometown memorials and community honors keep the legacies of fallen comrades alive, Nestor views the Foundation’s work as a promise to families and future generations of veterans: to remember, to stand with them, and to preserve the bonds of service through presence and practical support.
Peter Hall is Treasurer of the Fiddler’s Green Foundation and a marine technician based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A veteran of the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, Peter served three years with the unit and helped formalize the Foundation in 2025 after witnessing how reunions and ongoing fellowship sustained veterans and grieving families. Those gatherings, he says, became a lifeline—places where stories were preserved, wounds were acknowledged, and bonds were renewed. That experience shaped his conviction that remembrance must be paired with practical support. As Treasurer, Peter brings disciplined financial stewardship, a commitment to transparency, and a practical approach to turning donor generosity into measurable impact. He is focused on building robust financial systems, clear reporting practices, and donor stewardship processes that ensure funds are used efficiently and ethically. Over the next 12 months Peter will prioritize establishing a sustainable reserve, implementing transparent accounting practices, and launching the Foundation’s first funded platoon reunion—a pilot he believes will demonstrate the organization’s ability to convert resources into meaningful reconnection opportunities for veterans and families. Peter’s work is driven by a simple principle: honoring service requires both memory and action. He is dedicated to ensuring the Foundation not only preserves shared histories but also creates tangible programs that help veterans reconnect, heal, and pass their stories to the next generation. Through careful stewardship and programmatic focus, Peter aims to make the Foundation’s promise real for those who served and the families who carry their legacies.
